This shaving Brush Handle is made of beautiful stabilised, Ancient Irish Bog Oak. The Ancient Irish Bog Oak wood in this brush is approximately 2000-3000 years old, preserved naturally in the peat bogs of County Westmeath. Ireland. These gigantic Oak trees fell during the early Neolithic period and have been perfectly preserved underground for millennia. Natural voids in the wood were filled with brass and Iron inlays.
Non Omnis Moriar - I shall not wholly die.
Due to the unique conditions under which Ancient Irish bog oak forms over thousands of years, occasional white silica spots may be present. These are a natural characteristic of the wood and add to its authenticity and distinct beauty.
Wood stabilizing is a process used to enhance the durability and stability of wood by making it more resistant to environmental factors like moisture and temperature changes. This technique involves placing the wood in a vacuum chamber to remove air and moisture, then introducing a stabilizing resin under pressure. I stabilise wood myself in my workshop.
Handle height: 63mm
